Do You Want A Christ-Based Education For Your Little One?

Even before you married and had children, did you already plan to enroll them in a Christ-based school? Perhaps you yourself attended private schools during your childhood and you still reap the benefits that came from that education. Or, it might be that you went public school and your memories of those school days are not stellar. Whatever the reason that you have decided to enroll your child in a Christ-based preschool program, here are some ideas that might help you to enrich that experience.

From The Beginning - Meet with the director of the school before your child is enrolled in the preschool program. It might be very helpful if you give your reasons why you want your child to go to the school. This will solidify your commitment to your child's excellent education. For example, if you had a great experience during your own school years, point that out and tell the director that you want the same type of experience for your own child.

Consider volunteering at the private school you have chosen for your child. Besides the fact that your little son or daughter will more than likely truly enjoy having you come to his or her school, you will have the opportunity to meet other parents who also volunteer. Whether it's as a home room mother or whether you work in the library, any volunteer positions also help you to connect with school personnel.

As Time Goes By - Once your child is established in his or her Christ-based school, there are still many things you can do at home to enrich his or her learning experiences. Consider talking to your child's caregivers to get ideas of what you can do to support what is being done at school. For example, if your child is learning the letters of the alphabet and what their sounds are, you could spend a bit of time at home working on that.

Don't hesitate to have frequent parent-teacher consultations with your child's caregivers. Whether he or she has just one instructor or whether there are several who take part in your child's early education, getting to know each one of those who works with your child will more than likely help you to communicate about school activities once your child is back at home. Consider having a special time each day for you and your son or daughter to talk about what he or she is learning at daycare.
